Within the YRC1000 ArcWorld family there is a Tip Change Box option, which uses a combination of hardware and software to allow easy access for operators to change the robot's torch tip without entering the cell.
A common problem with this solution is not having the right settings for Remote Mode to utilize the feature. There is ladder logic which requires the programming pendant mode switch to be set to Remote as well as some Pseudo Input settings to be made correctly.
- NOTE ~ Remote mode is necessary so that the concurrent I/O ladder logic can be utilized to turn servos back on as well as issue a remote start command upon completion of the tip change operation.
In addition to the Programming Pendant setting to Remote, the Pseudo Input screen should also be confirmed. Per the manual these signals are available:
