MLX300 – Windows Firewall Rule Needed for MotoSim

The new MotoSim EG-VRC 2025 has a plugin for MotoLogix (MLX300).    It appears that the Windows Firewall blocks the Tcp communication to the PLC.    To resolve this, an inbound and outbound rule need to be created for the Windows Firewall.

Procedure to Create Firewall Rules

1    In the Windows Search bar, type “Firewall”, and select the “Window Defender Firewall and Advanced Security” app.

2.   Press [Inbound Rules] and select [New Rule]

3.   Select  “Program” and press [Next].

4.    Browse to the program path shown below for either the YRC1000 or the YRC1000micro and select either the YAS.exe or the YBS.exe file.  Press [Next].

5.    Continue by setting the Action, Profile and give the rule a name as shown below.   The example shows the name for the YRC1000 file.

6.    In the Inbound Rules column you can observe the new rules created for both the YRC1000 and the YRC1000micro.

7.    Repeat the process above to create Outbound Rules for the YRC1000 and YRC1000micro.
