Installing a YIP on Smart Pendant

Introduction

This article walks through the steps for installing a Yaskawa Install Package (YIP) on the Smart Pendant Hardware.

Compatible Controllers

• YRC1000
• YRC1000micro

Required Equipment

• Smart Pendant Hardware
• A USB Drive
• Personal Computer

Part 1 - Moving a YIP to the USB

1. Plug the USB Drive into the personal computer.
2. Copy/Paste or Move the desired YIP(s) to the top level of the USB.
   

Part 2 - Installing a YIP

1. Plug the USB Drive into the Smart Pendant Hardware.
   
2. Navigate to the Packages Screen.
   
   
3. Select install at the top of the screen.
   
4. Select and install desired package.
   

FAQ

• Why can't I see my desired package?
  • The "Show All" button will display all packages on the top level of the USB Drive, if the desired package isn't listed then the package might be inside a folder on the USB.
• Why can't I install my desired package?
  • The information button next to each package in the package list will display what the specific reason is that the package can't be installed.
• Why is my install button greyed out?
  • Installing a YIP requires a security level of Editing or above.
