Working with SIM / Simulated I/O:
On newer robot controllers there is a feature that allows inputs and outputs to be simulated. This can be useful if a sensor is not available or needs to be bypassed to test some other operation. However, leaving the I/O point in simulated (SIM) condition will cause the robot controller to continually give a message like:
- Simulating I/O
This message will appear when going into Play mode.
The steps below will help identify the input or output point(s) which are currently being simulated.
1. Go to the menu on the left, [IN/OUT] then select [IO SIMULATION LIST] from the sub-menu on the right:
2. Press the PAGE key on the teach pendant until a signal is listed. You may have to press it several times to get through various categories.
3. Next toggle on the item found, click on SIM to change to "OFF".
