The information presented here will not cover how to use the Quick Access Toolbar, that information can be found in the MotoSimEG-VRC manual under the Frequently-Asked Questions section. The information presented here will explain the two different scenarios that come into play when you set up a custom Quick Access Toolbar and also how to restore your toolbar when you upgrade to a newer version of MotoSimEG-VRC.
There are two scenarios that affect how the Quick Access Toolbar will work.
Scenario 1: While a cell is open in MotoSimEG-VRC.
Scenario 2: While there is NO cell open in MotoSimEG-VRC.
Scenario 1: If a custom Quick Access Toolbar is created it will only apply to the cell that it was created in. If that cell is shared with another MotoSimEG-VRC user, that Quick Access Toolbar will show up on that user’s instance of MotoSimEG-VRC and will temporarily, while that particular cell is open, overwrite any Quick Access Toolbar settings they have.
Scenario 2: If a custom Access Toolbar is created it will “stay with that particular MotoSimEG-VRC install”. Anytime a new cell is created and saved, it will always have that same Quick Access Toolbar.
Tip – If you do not wish to send your toolbar along with the cell, DO NOT include the cell’s .xml file.
Pro Tip – If you wish to keep your toolbar when you update to a new version of MotoSimEG-VRC, then before you uninstall your current version of MotoSimEG-VRC, run the Registry Editor. Navigate to the following Key in the registry.
Caution:
Before editing or changing anything in the Microsoft Windows registry, we recommend that you back up the registry.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ƒAƒvƒŠƒP[ƒVƒ‡ƒ“ ƒEƒBƒU[ƒh‚Ŷ¬‚³‚ꂽƒ[ƒJƒ‹ ƒAƒvƒŠƒP[ƒVƒ‡ƒ“\MotoSimEG-VRC\Workspace\MFCRibbonBar-59398]
Right-click and select ‘Export’ and save the .reg file somewhere safe. After you install your new version of MotoSimEG-VRC, simply double-click on your .reg file and import it into the registry.
