How to Connect a Monitor Display to View MotoPlus Output
When debugging MotoPlus, one of the most common methods of debug is to print text to the console. This text can be viewed by connecting a telnet console. But the controller must be fully booted before the telnet connection can be established. So, it is impossible to view message that occur at startup.
To remedy this, you can connect a VGA computer monitor to view the output immediately when powering up. For this reason, the MotoPlus SDK includes a special cable to add a VGA adapter to the controller’s CPU board.
This cable is available for the DX100 (159132-1), DX200 (171778-1), and YRC1000 (171778-1). No cable is available for FS100.
For the YRC1000micro, no cable is provided. However, there is a DisplayPort interface inside the controller. This requires you to remove the top cover of the robot controller.
Installing the Cable
Open the controller cabinet and locate the CPU board. Remove the two screws holding the board in place.
There is a pin header on the CPU board. Connect the cable to this pin header and feed it through the opening slot in the front of the board.
Re-insert the board and secure the screws.
You can now connect a VGA monitor to view output from the MotoPlus application.
