LAN2 = EtherNet/IP
On the YRC1000 controller there are 2 RJ45 / ethernet ports that a customer can utilize. However, only the port labeled LAN2 can be used for EtherNet/IP communication. Of course the EtherNet/IP option must be enabled for this to be true. (EtherNet/IP = EtherNet Industrial Protocol.)
What is the purpose of LAN3?
Typically the LAN3 port is utilize for functions like:
- MotoCom
- WeldCom
- Job Backup
- FTP
- Motoman Cockpit
- other EtherNet TCP/IP interfaces --- NOT Industrial Communication
LAN1 is used for the Programming Pendant
NOTE - the connectors are also be identified as follows within the controller itself:
- CN105 = LAN1
- CN106 = LAN2
- CN107 = LAN3
Final "Gotcha"
The subnets for LAN2 and LAN3 must be different.
