Communication Monitor / Status

General Overview:

DX200 and YRC controllers (YRC1000 and YRC1000micro) provide a tool called “Communication Monitor” that allows users to see the status of external IO devices that are communicating using various fieldbuses. With EtherNet/IP being the primary fieldbus in the USA we’ll look at this function while monitoring multiple Ethernet/IP devices. The screens are from a YRC1000 controller but the same can be found on the DX200 controller as well

Accessing Communication Monitor:

1. Login to the pendant with “Management” level security
2. Press “IN/OUT”
3. Press “COMMUNICATION MONITOR”

         4) The following screen will list the various IO stations that are utilized on the controller. Typically ST#15 is the only one listed and is where all the LAN2 Ethernet/IP Communication occurs. Press “SELECT” while ST#15 is highlighted.

The following screen lists the various devices that are configured within the “Scan List” of the controller.
